To the Finest Silk

In a parking bay on Maximilianstraße

What

to do with a leather miniskirt which covered your hips for a brief

summer and now clutters up the closet? The donated clothing

collections have been discredited, illegal collectors flock into the

market, and the headlines are filled with stories about clothes being

passed on to profiteering dealers rather than to people in need. A

group from Linz has found a solution: Let’s take old clothes and

build houses! With rubber boots, coats, sweaters, skirts and many,

many stockings they build a little house of which they can be proud

on Germany’s leading fashion mile between Hermès and Chanel.

Adorned with a splendid chandelier the “P(r)unkapartment

Maximilianstraße” may tempt many fashionistas to drop in for a

nighttime visit.
