The Freie Bühne München is staging Brecht’s “The Good Person of Szechwan,” directed by Sascha Fersch, with an inclusive cast.

At the center of the story is Shen Te, who, as a “good person,” fails to meet the expectations of those around her and invents her tough alter ego, Shui Ta, in order to survive. In a dystopian, condensed stage world, acting, chorus, dance, projections, and sound merge into a powerful parable about morality, identity, and the impossibility of remaining good in an unjust society.

The Freie Bühne München has been a pioneer in the field of inclusive theater for years. It has a long-standing artistic collaboration with the Kammerspiele.
