The Purim Shpil – or ‘Purim play’ – combines theatre, music, dance, song, pantomime and masquerade to commemorate the deliverance of the Jewish people 2,500 years ago during their exile in Persia. For the fourth time, the Münchner Kammerspiele and the Institute for New Social Sculptures are creating an empowering narrative focusing on utopian diaspora, alliances and self-determination, culminating in a shared celebration of life.
