For “Operation Operetta!”, a youth ensemble is forming in 2026 to collectively devise a piece of musical theatre – from the initial concept to the eventual performance. Through weekly meetings and workshops, a group of 15-to-19-year-olds will write and compose a work to be performed together with the Jewish Chamber Orchestra Munich in the Schauspielhaus in 2027.

Who holds the power when the system collapses? What happens when artificial intelligence suddenly disappears from the scene? Do we need authority to become free? “Operation Operetta!” ventures directly into the ruins of digital perfection to explore what remains when the algorithms fall silent. Bringing together diverse perspectives, the young team investigates what role art and music can play as the need for genuine community grows – and how creative processes can be organised equitably. Together, they are embarking on a quest for a new order in a world that was (formerly) ruled by algorithms.
