Resistories (AT)

In the performance “RESISTORIES”, writer, director, and artist Dîlan Z. Çapan weaves together historical and contemporary stories, figures, and motifs of feminist resistance, as well as artistic remembrance as a form of resistance, into a staged narrative. In it, we encounter, among others, the Mesopotamian mythological figure Şahmaran—goddess of wisdom and queen of serpents—the ancient Greek goddess of memory and mother of the Muses, Mnemosyne, and the Kurdish Jinên Azad (“Women of Freedom”). Music runs through the production as a central element: as a vehicle for memory and as the compositional principle of the visual, rhythmic staging.
