A concert evening
For their current tour, the Berlin-based band DOTA is turning a new page. With the addition of a string trio, a trombone, and a clarinet to their core lineup, they’ve created a pocket-sized pop chamber ensemble: The Tiny Little Orchestra.
While singer and lyricist Dota Kehr guides the audience through the evening with her unmistakable voice, this unique ensemble—featuring Jonas Hauer’s sophisticated arrangements—unfolds a vast range of sounds that add new dimensions to the frontwoman’s multi-layered poetry.
Sometimes delicate, sometimes powerful, and always finely tuned, this orchestra—which calls itself “tiny” yet represents the largest ensemble DOTA has ever toured with—resounds with rich, warm textures.
Polyphonic singing creates dense, warm soundscapes, while unusual instrumental combinations and surprising arrangements cast familiar songs in ever-changing light. Well-known pieces as well as rarely played gems from DOTA’s inexhaustible repertoire are reinterpreted in equal measure by the Klitzekleine Orchester.
Also featured will be musical settings of Mascha Kaléko’s poems, for which the band was awarded the RUTH World Music Prize at the Rudolstadt Festival in 2026, including some that have not yet been performed live.
The result is a concert experience that feels both understated and opulent—an invitation to listen attentively and immerse oneself. On this tour, DOTA & the Tiny Orchestra impressively demonstrate just how much power lies in quietness.
