Workshops with artists from the Festival of New Anatolian Music
Want your voice to be heard? Join in! — İÇ İÇE means ‘interwoven’. The festival for new Anatolian music is a kind of non-binary Woodstock festival. This year, it is being presented for the second time by the Kammerspiele in Munich. What a treat! MK: Mitmachen is presenting two fantastic workshops by and with the festival’s artists: KANAX4LIFE and Orhun Mersin, also known as Kekik.
Workshop 1: Talking back – Your Voice for Change – Writing workshop with KANAX4LIFE
Racist violence, social injustice, political incitement – these are not abstract issues from the news, but things that affect us directly. Perhaps you feel that your perspective doesn’t count in society. But that’s not true. “Widerspruch” is a workshop for anyone who not only wants to share their experiences and thoughts, but also give them a strong voice – no prior knowledge or degree in literature required. The only prerequisite is your presence and your willingness to engage with others.
Workshop 2: Dragging Nostalgia – Perspectives on Drag and AI with Orhun Mersin aka Kekik
We use deepfakes, voice cloning and lip-sync animations as “drag technologies” to reinterpret Turkish films, particularly Yeşilçam, and media from diasporic contexts in new and queer ways, whilst reflecting on where the models fail and what ideologies these failures reveal.
Through artistic and queer practices, the workshop aims to raise awareness of what we actually mean by “artificial intelligence”.
No prior knowledge is required; the workshop is open to anyone interested in drag and the artistic use of new technologies.
