Blickpunkte #7 „Glitsch“ Theater trifft Film

The seventh instalment of the Blickpunkte series, taking place on 18 June 2026 at the Habibi Kiosk, is inspired by the play ‘Glitsch’.

On this evening, Blickpunkte #7 presents short films by HFF students who experiment with bodies, dance and performance. The films create new worlds, reimagine bodies beyond fixed categorisations and make liminal states visible. How can mutability, transformation, ecstasy or trance be experienced cinematically? What possibilities does the medium of film offer – and what are its limitations compared to live performance?

Following the screenings, there will be time and space for an open discussion with the filmmakers, members of the ‘Glitsch’ production team and the audience. Together, we will discuss the questions and emotions raised by the films and the theatre production.

The body as an alien landscape.

Film 2: CHAPTERS OF PRESENCE (14:52 mins)

“Chapters of Presence” is an experimental dance film set in Brittany, France.

Across various chapters, two dancers pass through different phases of their presence and emotional state. The film was created in collaboration with choreographer Teresa Curotti and was realised as part of a self-organised one-week residency in 2025.

Director’s commentary:
“Chapters of Presence” was an emotional journey through the minds of Teresa and myself. The scenes are inspired by private moments from my life, as well as by moments created through Teresa’s guided dance and my view through the camera. We understand each other through perceptions and emotional states – through the inexplicable. This film is the result of our wonderful first collaboration.

Film 3: FROM ONE SKIN TO ANOTHER (4:13 min)

“From One Skin to Another” is a struggle to shed a skin, to move forward, to let go. It is a physical exploration of the layers that make up a body.

Film 4: THE WEIGHT OF THE MOON (23:50 min)

In the beginning there was the sea and the wind,
jagged rocks and trees.
And Gemma and Sidra. Words come and go.
Then the language between them fades away.
– An experimental film inspired by the poems and abstract paintings of the artist Etel Adnan.

Director’s commentary:

With “the weight of the moon”, I wanted to explore the moment of estrangement between two friends – the silence that grows between them, and the feeling of losing someone without fully understanding why. I was particularly interested in the question of whether art can open up a way to re-enter into dialogue with one another and encounter each other anew.
