With his graduation production “Mitleidsprotokoll – every tear recorded,” director Ruben Müller gives a voice in this world to Hervé Guibert, who died of AIDS in 1991. In a post-performance discussion about the play, students.remember, in cooperation with MK: Mitmachen, explores the question of why we should strive to give a voice to documented tears. Together with the audience, we experience different forms of memory culture in a flexible exchange: In conversation with the director, we discuss possibilities, potential limitations, and the process of approaching the artistic exploration of a stranger’s life story. The stage set becomes a walk-in space—a creative participatory and design station—and through a guided writing exercise, we will motivate and support you in capturing your story. The culture of remembrance begins with archival work in the present.

“Nachtgespräch” is a collaboration between students.remember by SVFE e.V. and MK: Get Involved
