“Hello, Body!” Welcome to a workshop weekend exploring the slippery world of slime in “Glitsch.” Over the course of two workshops, you’ll delve into Doris Uhlich’s new dance theater piece and embark—together with others—on a wild journey through time, exploring physical sensations.

While in our present, in-between worlds are increasingly drying up, “Glitsch” becomes a joyful glide—an idiosyncratic ceremony of the fluid and the ambiguous. The performers in “Glitsch” create a space for contemporary physical visions and intimacy—on stage, a fragment of a world emerges that does not yet exist. And it is precisely this world that we will explore in the two workshops with dancer Lisa Rykena and the artist duo Lucy Wilke and Pawel Duduś. We look forward to seeing you!

Program
11.5. 4pm
Workshop 1 „WANDELN“ with the dancer Lisa Rykena
Meet at the stage entrance, Falckenbergstrasse 2

Inspired by Doris Uhlich’s current production “Glitsch,” Lisa Rykena invites you to an intensive movement workshop that focuses on the power of transformation.

What does it mean to transform? Into which figures—and through which figures—can we move? The workshop views the body as malleable material: as a soft, flowing mass, as a steel-hard structure, as a vibrating resonance chamber. Between ecstasy and restraint, wild birth and conscious shaping, we explore the full range of physical expressiveness.

Together we embark on a wild journey through time—from small to large. As if being pushed into the world from an imaginary womb, we feel our way from the first impulse to a gesture that fills the space. We make ourselves big, shrink, rear up, let go. We ask: What does it mean to surrender to a system? And what happens when we shake it off together to the beat of the music?

Within the safe space of the workshop, it is permitted to behave wildly and surrender to the never-ending pulse of dance. For a moment, we can be anything—animal, robot, human. We travel through different landscapes—inner and outer—shift states of matter, shatter the forms that define us, and free ourselves from limitations.

This workshop is an invitation to ecstasy, self-empowerment, and the collective experience of transformation—a space where bodies are free to remember, invent, and be reborn.

Schedule:

Meet at the stage entrance, Falckenbergstrasse 2
4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Rehearsal Stage 2: Get-together, workshop with Lisa Rykena (including a break)

12.5. 3 – 5 pm
Workshop 2: “My Body, My Rules – Deciding for Yourself on Intimacy and Distance” with Lucy Wilke and Pawel Duduś
Habibi Kiosk, Maximilianstrasse

In this workshop, Lucy and Pawel invite you to consciously tune into your own physical cues. Under the motto “My Body, My Rules,” we’ll explore how closeness and distance feel and how you can decide for yourselves what feels good and right for you. We’ll practice recognizing boundaries and expressing them clearly.

Through theater-based exercises, we’ll create a space where you can better understand your body language and tune into your own needs. The workshop offers space for collaborative experimentation, sharing, and mindful interactions.

In cooperation with: Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich – Institute for Theater Studies and the inclusive Montessori school Aktion Sonnenschein
