In June, publicist and philosopher Michel Friedman will meet Albrecht Koschorke, an expert on effective storytelling, at the Schauspielhaus theater. Together, they will explore the various dimensions of power in a dialogue-based discussion.

Albrecht Koschorke is a professor of German literature and general literary studies at the University of Konstanz and an extraordinary professor at the University of Pretoria in South Africa. His research focuses on storytelling—both within and outside of literature. Koschorke is currently researching the cultural history and narratives of liberalism.

Fischer Verlag published “Wahrheit und Erfindung. Grundzüge einer Allgemeinen Erzähltheorie” (Truth and Invention: Fundamentals of a General Theory of Narrative), and he received the 2016 Philosophy Book Prize for his book “Hegel und wir. Frankfurter Adorno-Vorlesungen 2013” (Hegel and Us: Frankfurt Adorno Lectures 2013), published by Suhrkamp. In the same year, Matthes & Seitz published “Hitlers ‘Mein Kampf’. Zur Poetik des Nationalsozialismus“ (Hitler’s ”Mein Kampf“: On the Poetics of National Socialism) was published by Matthes & Seitz. His new book, ”Souveränität der Vernunft. Die kulturellen Anfänge des Liberalismus” (Sovereignty of Reason: The Cultural Beginnings of Liberalism), will be published by Suhrkamp Verlag in April 2026.

An event organized by the Munich Kammerspiele in cooperation with the Munich City Library.
