Performance, stage, costume, film and music – 4 days of workshops with showings
We celebrate spring. Back to square one. Now is the time for new beginnings, for powerful community-building ideas, visions, games, fun and a little bit of musical theatre. Coached by artists, you will create your spring outfit and bring what you really enjoy doing to the stage. Together instead of alone, we will dance, perform, make music, film, improvise, write lyrics, sing and much more. The choice is yours! For the grand finale on Friday, 10 April, everything that has been developed over the four days will be presented on stage at the Therese-Giehse-Halle in front of an audience.
Dance Theatre Video Edition
What does fun mean to you, what makes you happy, what makes you laugh? What music puts you in a good mood? Why are movement and community fun – and especially both together? Where does the joy of performing and acting come from? Can we capture fun with the camera?
In this dance/theatre/film workshop, we use play to develop movement material and choreography. We playfully translate texts into movement, try not to laugh – or laugh a lot – and infect each other with our joy of playing.
We work with the elements of movement, language, music and video, let chance play a part and develop our artistic material from this. Will we ultimately succeed in bringing our joy of playing to the stage in a performance?

Stage and costume design
What exactly is a diva – and how does one become one? A diva takes up space without owning it – and listens carefully: to people, animals and events that are often overlooked. We raise the curtain in surprising places and create space for opera-like performances. The opera collective DIVA will turn unexpected places into stages with you. Together we will sing, tell stories, paint, sew, play and transform ourselves in costumes. For us, spring means seeking out forgotten old paths and walking new ones, looking for connections, risking contact and forming alliances.
Writing workshop
Language contains music, whether we intend it to or not. As soon as we speak, rhythms and melodies emerge. During our writing workshop, we want to raise awareness of this and pay closer attention to it. We want to write texts that do one thing above all else: SOUND GOOD. We will draw inspiration from music, melodies, songs, arias, poetry, dance and movement. We will collaborate with other workshops, allowing our texts to sound new and completely different.
Experimental Electronic Sound Compositions
In this workshop, we will dive into the world of experimental music and sound synthesis. Starting with a brief, practical introduction to the basics of sound generation with synthesizers, we will explore different methods for creating unusual sounds, textures and soundscapes.
In addition to electronic synthesizer sounds, we will also work with field recordings, guitars, our voices, and are open to other creative sound sources. The aim is to sharpen our hearing, experiment with sound as material, and dissolve the boundaries between noise, music, and atmosphere.
In the course of the workshop, we will work together to create a collective sound piece – an experimental composition that grows out of the sounds, recordings and musical ideas developed by the participants. No prior knowledge is required; curiosity about sound and a desire to experiment are what matter most.
Sing your Song. Choir – Experience
Do you like singing? Then you should join us – that's all it takes. Oh, and feel free to bring along a song that inspires you, or a singer – just write it down on a small piece of paper. We'll warm up together, find out more about our voices – the loud and soft notes, singing individually and together, working on a song. And the workshop week will remain an open space for us as a group, for wishes and ideas that we encounter along the way.
