In the series “Auf einen Mokka mit Sue” (Over a mocha with Sue), Suzan “Sue” Çakar meets people at Habibi Kiosk who open up social spaces with their work and negotiate questions of identity, belonging, and resistance. This edition is in cooperation with the Munich collective We Won’t Shut Up!, which promotes feminist, anti-racist, and empowering spaces for conversation.

Maryam.fyi is a musician, songwriter, and German-Iranian artist. Her music combines electronic pop sounds with themes such as freedom, self-determination, and belonging. Her songs reflect personal experiences between cultures and forms of expression, as well as her engagement with political developments in Iran.

In addition to her music, Maryam writes regularly as a columnist for DIFFUS about the revolution in Iran, feminism, freedom, and the connection between personal history and social responsibility. Her artistic and journalistic work creates spaces for memory, resistance, and hope.

In conversation with Sue, Maryam.fyi provides insights into her artistic journey, talks about living between different cultural realities, and shows how music becomes language when words alone are not enough.

A mocha about art, identity—about freedom, self-empowerment, and the power of one’s own voice.
