Ballhouse Culture meets Purimshpil meets Party
For the third time, the Institut für Neue soziale Plastik is celebrating the holiday of Purim in cooperation with the Münchner Kammerspiele theater with Purimsphil and a party: With masquerade and music, costumes and extravagance, we commemorate the rescue in Persian exile 2,500 years ago, when Queen Esther saved the Jewish people from destruction—a wise woman who skillfully maneuvered to win the right to self-defense and thus serves as a role model for marginalized groups today.
Inspired by ballhouse culture, which also provided refuge for progressive Jews, we create an empowering, joyful, and musical narrative about utopian diaspora, alliances, and self-determination, followed by a celebration of life together.
Come in costume, be loud, sing along, and celebrate with us!
Everyone is welcome, regardless of religion, origin, or gender.
Due to the increased security measures of the event, there may be increased waiting times at the entrance. Coats, jackets and large bags must be left at the checkroom. Admission only with valid photo ID. The performance starts at 20:00, followed by the party from approx. 21:30.
