“You Are More Than A Thousand Words” is the name of plainhead’s new album. Spirals of decaying samples, guitars, and clarinets form the perfect soundtrack for windy summer days and bright nights. And for those moments when the wind clears your head again. It loops and “notwisted” noticeably. Because plainhead also have a flair for subtle sound design. Rhythms stumble, words return like half-remembered thoughts. plainhead draw an endless sketch of the night sky and the air moving through it. This small romantic gesture to the stars and to people moves elastically between solo and joint band projects and is—free of expectations—dedicated to collective feeling. This fits in with the DIY scene and their self-founded label new basement. For several years now, new musical ideas have been brought to Munich here, and a connection between pop and experimental rock has been established and cultivated in an interdisciplinary manner.
