Workshop with LJ Jeschke and Mira Mann
Intimacy Quarterly Playground is the workshop format of the performance and concert series Intimacy Quarterly. Here we explore the power of text and music—how they interact and can create new spaces.
The first part of the workshop is led by LJ Jeschke. Here we write notes and experiment with writing about ourselves as fans: who we are or once were. How did we feel as teenagers? What was it like to lose ourselves in others? To dream celebrity dreams, teams, songs… Being a fan can have queer and collective moments, take place within our own four walls or on the street, be full of melancholy or simply be fun.
After a short break, we discover our bodies as instruments together with Mira Mann, building vocal drones that can later serve as a musical bed for the spoken texts. We rediscover the texts we wrote in the first part of the evening. We challenge their rhythmic and performative side and let them resound together.
The third part of the workshop is dedicated to the session—everyone is invited to participate. We celebrate together the moment when things come into being, listen carefully, and let ourselves be surprised.
Out on a fun ride to a place unknown!
