At the Jewish Museum, literary scholar Rachel Salamander will discuss the opportunities and challenges of literature as a medium of remembrance culture with students from Munich’s universities. What significance do autobiographical accounts of the experiences of Shoah survivors and their descendants have eighty years after the end of World War II? And what role can literature—as a subjective, artistic medium that generates empathy—play in today’s increasingly digitized culture of remembrance?

An event organised by students remember.
