Back to school

What was it like back then at Falckenberg? What does it mean today to be on the big stage or screen, or in a completely different professional environment? With Back to School, we launched a discussion format last season in which graduates of the OFS from different years return to the place where they trained and talk to Tim Bergmann, who is also a graduate of the Otto Falckenberg School (class of 1995), about their school days, their careers, their craft, and their art.

In October, our guests will be Dominique Devenport (graduating in 2021) and Thomas Schmauser (graduating in 1997).

Thomas Schmauser was named Actor of the Year in 2025 by the trade magazine Theater heute for his portrayal of Hendrik Höfgen in Mephisto (directed by Jette Steckel, Münchner Kammerspiele). In addition to his impressive theater career, including as a permanent ensemble member of the Münchner Kammerspiele, he is also known for numerous film and television roles. Dominique Devenport gained widespread attention in the RTL/TVNOW series Sisi, which premiered at the Canneseries Festival in 2021, where she plays the title role. She was also a permanent member of the ensemble at the Volkstheater Rostock.
