A lyrical-musical evening by Deepika Arwind & Melis Çom
An evening between language and sound, dream and reality, resistance and tenderness.
Deepika Arwind’s poetic text feels its way through questions of origin, belonging, and colonial heritage – fragmentary, political, vulnerable. It speaks on the edge of language, in the space between languages, in an attempt to discover a new one.
The harp – played by Melis Çom – responds: at times whispering, at times defiant, at times consoling. It is not an accompaniment, but a partner in dialogue. Its sounds comment, contradict, intensify what is spoken – and open a space for being together.
What might the world look like if we began to truly listen to each other?
Perhaps like a sound that doesn’t merely respond, but transforms.
Perhaps like this evening – it’s an attempt, a quiet beginning.
