In the second edition of the new season, philosopher, journalist and author Michel Friedman invites Professor Harald Lesch to a discussion. The topic: lies. Together with Friedman, he reflects on this term on November 19.
Dr. Harald Lesch, born in 1960, is Professor of Theoretical Astrophysics at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, where he has taught since 1995. He has also been Professor of Natural Philosophy at the Munich School of Philosophy since 2002. In addition to his scientific work, Lesch is one of the best-known science communicators in the German-speaking world.
From 1998 to 2007, he worked in educational television at Bayern alpha before moving to ZDF in 2008, where he communicates complex scientific topics to a wide audience in an understandable way with formats such as Leschs Kosmos, Terra X and Faszination Universum.
As an author, he has published numerous books, most recently Die Entdeckung der Milchstraße, Denkt Mit – Wie uns die Wissenschaft aus der Krise helfen kann, Erneuerbare Energien zum Verstehen und Mitreden and Quantenphysik für Fußgänger.
Harald Lesch was awarded the Bavarian Maximilian Order for Science and Art and the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class for his services to science and education.
