In 2025, the Münchner Kammerspiele will once again present a young generation of playwrights to its audiences with the focus “New Time, New Drama”. Since the beginning of May, the four authors nominated for the International Edith and Werner Rieder Prize - Marie-Christin Janssen, Lennart Kos, Vincent Sauer and Ivan Vlatković - have been guests in residence. In 15-minute showings, the authors provide insights into the texts they wrote during the residency. These revolve around longing and transition, a village fighting against light pollution, the missed Northern Lights over Munich, and - are they smoking or are they gay?

The International Edith and Werner Rieder Prize for New Drama is awarded biennially by the Cultural Department of the City of Munich, Drei Masken Verlag and the Münchner Kammerspiele.
