Over backgammon (tawla in Arabic) and tea, we want to get into conversation together and offer a place for informal exchange. At the same time, we teach the rules of the game that has connected people across continents and borders for thousands of years.
We are cleo, a migrant feminist community from Munich. In the face of increasing exclusion and identitarian divides, we want to build bridges. It is time to open up spaces in which belonging is actively expressed. Our intervention is both an invitation and an appeal: let’s get in touch and build a plural, just urban society together by listening to each other and exchanging (shared) visions.
We will explain the rules on site, so no prior knowledge is necessary. You don’t need to bring anything: Tawla, dice, coffee, tea and wine are provided. If you have your own backgammon set, feel free to bring it along!
