„the hours have lost their clocks“

The production “proteus2481” sends us on a journey through the centuries, through colonial, cultural and theater history, in search of the core of the plot. Just like the play, we will be following in the footsteps of history in two workshops this weekend and asking ourselves what form of chaos is needed to finally escape from this tragic time.

Friday 11.7.2025
4 pm
Meeting point
Stage entrance, Falckenbergstraße 2
4 – 6 pm
Workshop 1: “Proteus is calling” - A workshop about choral transformations
Rehearsal stage 1

Direction: Sacha Anema, Susi Wimmer, Stephan Larro
Transformation of body, voice and space - and all this in the choir too!
In this workshop, we will immerse ourselves in the world of the versatile sea god Proteus, who can not only change his shape, but also his voice and mood - and who also looks after the seals on Seal Island.
How can we transform ourselves? Physically, vocally, spatially?
How can our rehearsal room become an island, a wave, the voice of the sea - without any stage set or props?
We start in a very practical way: we get to know each other, make our bodies and voices supple and expressive. Now it gets creative - we work on small scenes and choral sequences.
Together we will discover the magic of transformation - solo, as a duo and, of course, in chorus!

Rehearsal stage 1

The satyrs are the companions of Dionysus and are at the center of the production “proteus2481”. In the workshop, we will follow in the footsteps of these half-human, half-animal creatures. We want to empathize with these lust-loving creatures with all our senses and embark on a sensual journey across the stage.
Their love of chaos is another characteristic of the satyrs that we will examine in detail. Can we create harmonious chaos in the group? Only if we pay close attention to each other. Together we try to make our chaos bigger and faster or calmer and slower before we land back on the ground.
