This special duo is coming to Munich from Kenya: Sven Kacirek and Olith Ratego mix electronica with the folk tradition of the Kenyan Luo people. And vice versa.
Their second album was recently released. “Negore” was well received internationally. NPR and BBC Radio praised it to the skies, as did the influential Bandcamp platform. And that’s a good thing, because subtly crafted music needs strong allies. After all, “Negore” doesn’t jump out at us and clamor for attention. ODD OKODDO prefer to lead us gently into a contemplative universe. Sven Kacirek carefully enhances Olith’s lyrical compositions. His music is rich in rhythmic, melodious sounds. The lyrics deal with love, fate and the form of perseverance that creates change. When ODD OKODDO perform live, they reinterpret their own pieces again and again. Every concert brings a new experience. You should experience at least one of them.
