Come and put on your hope! — Six workshops over three days for anyone aged 14 and over who doesn’t want to get lost in the chaos of the world

Come and put on hope! In six artistic workshops we will combine our energies and ideas, explore together what hope is, what happens when it has disappeared and where we can find it again. Let’s build new worlds together and connect our ideas so that we don’t get lost in the chaos of this world.

Register now for dance, performance, music & video, text workshop or costume workshop. We look forward to seeing you!

The workshops will be held in German, but we can offer an English translation if necessary. Please let us know what you need to take part in the workshop.

Hope dies last and what comes next?
Workshop 1
Age: 14 – 16 years
Theatre-Performance
Direction: Leonie Erlecke und Charlotte Huber

I don't know where and when exactly, but somehow I've lost my hope. No problem, we'll find it again.

Together with you, we want to find out what hope is, what happens to us when it fades and how we can get it back when it really has gone. Your opinions, stories, texts, poems, emotions, fears, dreams and anything else you would like to say out loud so that everyone can hear!

Finding Hope in Creation: Melodies in Motion
Workshop 2
Age: 14 – 30 years
Music und Video
Direction: Mira-Belle Rose Bryld und Aleksandra Dyja

Unleash your creative vision! Write a song together and realize it in small groups in the form of music videos. We will not only learn technical skills in film production and music production, but also practice working creatively as a collective. You will also have the chance to perform in front of (or behind) the camera and in the recording studio. Your self-confidence will be boosted and you can prove to yourself what you are capable of!

MOVING UTOPIA
Workshop 3
Age: 14 – 18 years
Dance and creative writing
Direction: Emily Kober und Djami Struck

Are you keen to experiment and want to rethink the world? Then join in with “MOVING UTOPIA”!
We combine creative writing with dance. Together we will find hope in our ideas and learn to simply try things out. Let's build new worlds together and connect our ideas so that we don't get lost in the chaos of this world. In stormy times, it can help to find our inner anchor and focus on our strengths.
You can expect creative exchange, mutual appreciation and a safe space in which you are noticed and accepted. We want to see who you are and what you have to say!

Can we put on hope? Upcycling costume workshop
Workshop 4
Age: 14 – 30 years
Costumes, make-up and photography
Direction: Mai Strathmann und Stella Traub

How do you express yourself with what you wear? In a joint exchange, we want to focus on the perspective of trans* people and gender in clothing.
Bring your own clothes that we can use for upcycling. Together we will make wearable, sustainable “collages” and buttons that revolve around the theme of hope. With a photo station we want to document our self-designed clothes and stage ourselves.

Faith Lie Hope II
Workshop 5
Age 14 – 18 years
Performance
Direction: Verena Regensburger

Confidence in the future is damaged. Yes, every era has its challenges. But the looming catastrophes are whipping around. And if it were all just a movie, we might still be curious about the course of events - but sometimes we'd rather skip it. How do we deal with it? Facing up to the facts, taking worries seriously and looking for moments when our minds are floating on a cloud. So how about an angry speech while skipping rope? Or a choir against loneliness?

Hope is not a blank page
Workshop 6
Age: 14 – 99 years
Writing workshop of the Network of Munich Theater Texters (NMT)
Direction: Manina Ott und Theresa Seraphin

The future hasn't looked this bleak for a long time. Climate crisis - screw it. Right-wing politics - on the rise. Diverse perspectives - out of place. Despair - the order of the day. What should give us hope? And what brings hope at all?

Together we examine the connection between writing and hope. Do we write because we have hope? Does writing give us hope? What stories, thoughts and longings keep our hope alive? And how can we turn our hope into reality through writing? We reclaim hope through writing!

The workshop is aimed at people of all ages who want to write themselves. You don't need any previous experience. All people are welcome, we are happy to welcome people who belong to one of the following groups, for example: People with non-German first language, BiPoC, LGBTIQ*, people with (in)visible disabilities, chronic illness or neurodiversity. We believe that we all need hope!

If you need something specific to participate well in the workshop, please let us know. We will do our best to make this possible, given lead time and financial capacities.

The vacation camp is supported by “Zur Bühne”, the funding program of the German Stage Association as part of “Kultur macht stark. Alliances for Education”
