Film screening and artist talk
Turkey 2024 | Comedy | 90 min. | With German subtitles
The 36th Turkish Film Festival Munich (1 - 6 April 2025) presents a stirring film about a woman who seizes the opportunity to finally realize herself after the death of her husband at the Münchner Kammerspiele.
After the death of her husband, the widow Sultan begins to do everything “a woman shouldn’t do”, much to the horror of her children and the village community. She wants to remarry, opens a vegetable stall and sets up a vacation pension. But as if that wasn’t enough, her behavior also becomes a role model for other women in the small village on the Aegean…
The well-known actress Nur Sürer shines in the leading role. Director Nadim Güç and the screenwriter and author of the story, Erdi Işık, will be present for an audience discussion after the film.
Afterwards, there will be a festival party in the canteen of the Münchner Kammerspiele.
