#3: Immigration office, asylum and deportation
The new talk show by podcaster and author Burak Yılmaz is entering its third round. With the Bundestag elections in sight, Burak devotes the January edition to the all-time favorite topics of German politicians during the election campaign: asylum and deportation. And what role does the immigration authority actually play as a link between decision-makers and those affected? He has invited Tahsin Mirza to talk about this.
Tahsin Mirza was born and raised as a Yazidi in Shingal, Iraq. He has been living in Germany for eight years, where he has been doing stand-up comedy, theater projects and anti-racism work as a budding theater educator throughout Germany. He is also the protagonist of the ARD documentary “Bêmal-Heimatlos - 10 Jahre Völkermord an den Jesiden” by Düzen Tekkal, a journalist and documentary filmmaker, and David Körzdörfer, a filmmaker and director.
