Michel Friedman in conversation with Florence Gaub – about war

In February, Michel Friedman - philosopher, journalist, author and one of the keenest observers of current affairs - will be talking to none other than Dr. Florence Gaub.
The Franco-German citizen served as a reserve officer in the French army and has been Director of Research at the NATO Defense College in Rome since 2023. Prior to that, she was a Future Advisor at the General Secretariat of the Council of the EU, Special Advisor to the EU Commissioner for Strategic Foresight, and Deputy Director at the EU Institute for Security Studies. She was the Institute’s resident Middle East analyst and began her career at the NATO Defense College as a faculty advisor to the Middle East faculty. Her career has taken her from conflicts and wars in the Middle East and North Africa to institutional change and geopolitical shifts. Her work focuses on long-term trends, challenges and opportunities and how societies can be prepared for the future. Florence Gaub has written numerous publications, most recently “Zukunft. An instruction manual” (dtv, 2023).
