Nina E. Schönefeld combines film projections with installation elements in her art.

Initially, her video works challenge our viewing habits: they combine current and historical phenomena and place them in visionary, sometimes dystopian contexts. At the same time, Schönefeld plays with sculptural elements: she uses mirror arrangements, for example, and thus repeatedly directs the viewer’s gaze to their own reflections. This repeatedly raises the question of one’s own position, in line with the leitmotif: It is never too late to take up the fight. There is always light at the end of the tunnel.

The artist Nina E. Schönefeld talks to Gina Penzkofer (Habibi Kiosk) and Lisa Britzger (Lothringer 13 Halle) about their artistic approaches to socio-political issues and their ideas on interdisciplinary work.

The discussion will take place as part of the video installation NO FUTURE HOPE, which can be visited at Lothringer 13 Halle from November 29 to February 2. Three video works by Schönefeld can be seen here, which focus on a spirit of rebellion, defiance and a longing for change.
