Talks and music on conflict-laden topics of our time with Burak Yılmaz
Full speed ahead into the potential for conflict!
The Werk*raum is getting its own late night show. Author and podcaster Burak Yılmaz takes a humorous look at the burning issues of our time and invites well-known faces from cabaret, comedy and social media to join the conversation. Of course, music is a must!
Burak Yılmaz is an author and podcaster from Duisburg. He writes about poverty, masculinity and racism. His book “Ehrensache: Kämpfen gegen Judenhass” was published by Suhrkamp Verlag. He crosses different milieus with his work: prisons, theaters, parliaments. Yılmaz was awarded the DFB’s Julius Hirsch Prize for his work and received the Federal Cross of Merit in 2021 for his commitment against racism and anti-Semitism. Together with Aylin Celik and Kader Abdul Chahin, he devotes himself to the hot topics of our time in the weekly podcast “Brennpunkt”. From the 24/25 season, he will host the “Late Night Real Talks” every two months in the Werk*raum of the Münchner Kammerspiele.
In the first edition, Munich cabaret artist Christl Sittenauer and Frankfurt rapper Alyssa were guests on the topic: Munich, moderation and masculinity.
The topic and guests for the second edition on 22.11.2024 will be announced soon.
