New texts on war and anti-Semitism
Guest: Etgar Keret
For the series “Writing about ‘The Situation’” in cooperation with the Institut für Neue Soziale Plastik, Israeli and diasporic playwrights and writers are continuously writing new literary texts about a present characterized by uncertainty and pain. A reading of the texts takes place every two months.
Etgar Keret will be a guest at the 4th edition. The bestselling Israeli author, who is best known for his short stories, is considered one of the most important contemporary Israeli authors. He is also highly regarded internationally, with his works having been translated into 37 languages in 40 countries - making Keret one of the most translated Hebrew authors alongside Amos Oz. He has received numerous national and international awards for his works.
Etgar Keret will read from two short stories and then engage in conversation with Dr. Rachel Salamander.
The reading will be framed by projections of Israeli art created after the massacre.
