URBAN BODIES PROJECT- MUNICH
Audio-Walk mit Performance im Kontext der Ausstellung Global Munich. In Perspective.
Choreographie von Yolanda Gutiérrez
Kuratiert von Sophie Eisenried
The Mexican-German choreographer Yolanda Gutiérrez realized the URBAN BODIES PROJECT-MUNICH together with local dancers and artists in the context of her fellowship at global dis:connect. In the context of the exhibition Global Munich. In Perspective, she is showing the first part of the project “El Dorado” in cooperation with the dancer David Valencia.
Together with the dancer, the audience will embark on a performative audio walk along Maximilianstrasse, Munich’s luxury shopping street. The performance invites the audience to reflect on the meaning of “gold” in the context of colonialism and how this precious metal continues to fascinate people, for example in their consumer behavior. The choreographer thus draws attention to globalization-inherent, colonial exploitation regimes using the example of Maximilianstraße in Munich.
Meeting point: 14:50 at Max-Joseph-Platz, Opera staircase
