Theatre of the new generation

Rather than being children’s theatre or chiefly for adults, this is a performance for everyone. The SKART collective and the children are radically equal as they discuss “grown-up topics”. They address current social debates and do not hesitate to tackle even the issue of violence. What is violence? What does it do to people? And what do the children from Munich have to ask and say about this? An artistic, educational as well as social project that is also a contribution to society’s discussions about how adults deal with children.

SKART is one of the most innovative groups in contemporary German-speaking theatre involved in children’s and youth work. Their theatre performances are inspired by visual art, body, sound and video art, and contemporary dance. SKART pieces are tongue-in-cheek, humorous and play empoweringly with taboo topics that adults all too often withhold from children.
