Zeynep Bozbay, born in Berlin in 1992, gained her early theatre experience in various youth theatre groups, including P14, the youth theatre of the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz. In 2011 she performed at the Deutsches Theater Berlin in “Clash” by Nurkan Erpulat (invited to the Theatertreffen der Jugend 2011). In her final school year in 2012, she began her training at the Thomas Bernhard Institute, Mozarteum Salzburg, which she finished in 2016. During her studies, she performed in numerous theatre productions, including the Salzburg Festival 2014 under the direction of Alvis Hermanis. In the 2016/17 season, she played in the ensemble of the Landestheater Niederösterreich St. Pölten. She first played in the Münchner Kammerspiele in 2016 in Nicolas Stemann’s world premiere of Elfriede Jelinek’s “Wut”.
As of the 2017/18 season, Zeynep Bozbay will be a permanent member of the Münchner Kammerspiele.
