Steven Scharf


Steven Scharf, born in 1975, passed his training at the University for Music and Theater in Rostock. Subsequently he performed at the Theaterhaus Jena, worked with the ensemble of the Schauspielhaus Köln as well as at the Theater Basel and had guest performances at the Theater Freiburg. At these stages he collaborated with directors, such as Barbara Frey, Sebastian Nübling and Lars-Ole Walburg. For his performance in “Plattform” (directed by Stephan Kimmig, 2013) he was elected “Actor of the Year” by the magazine “Theater heute” in 2013. For his presentation of “Judas” (directed by Johan Simons, 2012) in the production of the same name he was awarded the “Gertrud Eysoldt Ring”. In 2013 he was honored with the “AZ newspaper Star of the Year” in the category drama.

From 2007/08 to 2014/15 Steven Scharf has been a permanent member of the Münchner Kammerspiele ensemble where he appeared in “Three Kingdoms” (directed by Sebastian Nübling, 2011), “Die Straße. Die Stadt. Der Überfall.” (directed by Johan Simons, 2012), “Liliom” (directed by Stephan Kimmig, 2014) as well as most recently in “Das schweigende Mädchen” (directed by Johan Simons, 2015), among other plays.
