Maja Beckmann


Maja Beckmann, born in Herne in 1977, comes from a theater family. Three of her four siblings are actors. Beckmann started her path toward a theater career as student at the Schauspielhaus Bochum from 2002 to 2005. Then she became a permanent member of the Bochum ensemble where she performed until 2013. Those productions put her in touch with directors such as David Bösch, Jürgen Kruse, Matthias Hartmann and Elmar Goerden. From 2013 to 2015 she was engaged at the Staatstheater Stuttgart. In addition to her work for the theater, Maja Beckmann has time and again appeared in film and television roles, such as in the TV series “Stromberg” as Sabine ‘SabbelBuhrer. Her first leading role was in “Die Österreichische Methode” (directed by Florian Mischa Böder, Peter Bösenberg, Gerrit Lucas, Erica von Moeller, Alexander Tavakoli, 2006), which was shown in German movie theaters in 2008 and had its debut performance at the Hofer Filmtage.

Since the 2016/17 season Maja Beckmann is a permanent member of the Münchner Kammerspiele ensemble.
