Franz Rogowski


Franz Rogowski, born in Freiburg in 1986, has worked freelance in theater and film productions since 2007. As actor, dancer and choreographer he collaborated, among others, with Jan Henrik Stahlberg, Henri Steinmetz, Sebastian Schipper, Jakob Lass, Das Helmi, Nicolas Stemann, Johannes Dullin, Falk Richter, Anouk van Dijk, Constanza Macras, Meine Damen und Herren, Georges Delnon, Angelina Maccarone and Banality Dreams. In the production “Faust I+II” (directed by Nicolas Stemann, Salzburger Festspiele/Thalia Theater, 2011), which was invited to the Berliner Theatertreffen in 2012, he worked as choreographer, actor and dancer. In 2013 he performed as dancer in the production “For the disconnected Child” (directed by Falk Richter, Schaubühne/Staatsoper Berlin), which was awarded the Friedrich-Luft Prize. In the same year he was honored with the Advancement Award Neues Deutsches Kino (Munich Film Festival) in the category “drama” for his performance in the film “Love Steaks” (directed by Jakob Lass). Most recent choreographic works include, among others, “Friction” (Uferstudios Berlin/Thalia Theater, 2012) and “RAMBO” (directed by Das Helmi). In 2014/15 Franz Rogowski was repeatedly involved as choreographic consultant as well as actor in film, television and theater productions, such as “Große Vögel, kleine Vögel” (directed by Das Helmi) at the Ballhaus Ost Berlin. Currently he can be seen in “Victoria”, the new movie by Sebastian Schipper, which was released at the Berlinale 2015.

Starting with the 2015/16 season Franz Rogowski is a permanent member of the Münchner Kammerspiele ensemble.
