Christian Friedländer pursued a training as costume and stage designer at the Denmark School of Design. Since 1993 he has worked as stage designer for opera, ballet and drama in Scandinavia, Germany and France. From 2004 to 2007 he was artistic director of the “Turbinenhalle” of the Royal Theater Copenhagen. He has closely collaborated with directors, such as Katrine Wiedemann, Kasper Holten, Jeremy Weller, Anders Paulin, Tue Biering, Bille August, Frank Castorf, Alexander Mørk Eidem and Hugo Hansen. Christian Friedländer also works as photographer.
He has developed several plays in cooperation with director David Marton. At the Münchner Kammerspiele he is responsible for the stage design of Marton’s productions “La Sonnambula” and “Die Hochzeit des Figaro”.
