Alexander Giesche


GIESCHEand is a collective of independent artists, who regularly meet for collaborations. Artistic director and group leader is Alexander Giesche, born in 1982. Giesche was a student at the Institut für Angewandte Theaterwissenschaft in Giessen and at DasArts in Amsterdam as well as artist-in-residence at the Theater Bremen. He has attracted the attention of international festivals and juries with his technology-based projects. In April 2015, his visual poem “Der perfekte Mensch” (The Perfect Man) lifted the curtain on the Munich Radikal jung festival. Besides Munich, Giesche also directs in Bremen and Lucerne and shows his work on international stages. During the project “Future Shock” in the seasons 2015-2017, Giesche staged the play “Yesterday You Said Tomorrow” at the Münchner Kammerspiele in Kammer 3 and “8 ½ million” by Tom McCarthy in Kammer 2; “Future Shock” will end in June 2017 with the installation project “The Internet”.

In the 2017/18 season Alexander Giesche will stage “New Beginnings” as a multimedia installation.
