We are going to the Bayerische Theatertage!

The decision of the board of trustees for the 37th Bavarian Theatre Days 2020 has been made: 25 top-class productions are invited to the festival this year. We are also allowed to travel to Swabia and take "Uncanny Valley" by Rimini Protokoll (Stefan Kaegi) and Thomas Melle (for the Divers section) as well as "10 Vaterunser" by Christiane Huber (for the Bavaria Too section) with us.

Under the motto "WIR KÖNNEN AUCH ANDERS!", the selected productions form the core of a discursive festival of contemporary theatre with an acute political theme. The curators have selected the participating Bavarian productions from 93 applications received in an intensive process of evaluation. The team of curators includes Christoph Leibold (culture journalist and theatre critic), Anne Verena Freybott (chief dramaturg at the Landestheater Schwaben), Frauke Meyer (director, project developer, artistic project manager, lecturer), Judith Huber (director of the independent theatre PATHOS Munich), Eva Löbau (theatre and film actress, ensemble member of the Münchner Kammerspiele) and Christian Schönfelder (dramaturg at the JES Stuttgart and freelance author).

The Bayerische Theatertage take place from May 20 - 31 at the Landestheater Schwaben in Memmingen.
