Open Call: was weiß wasser, wasser weiß was

Residency @Longega + Exhibition participation @Habibi Kiosk

For the exhibition was weiß wasser, wasser weiß was we are looking for an artist (individual or duo) to develop a new artistic work. The work may include performative elements, but is not limited to them, and deals with water as a material, cultural, or commemorative medium. Water appears here not only as a resource or natural phenomenon, but as a repository of minerals, information, and stories, and at the same time as something that is itself collected and captured in bottles, lakes, wells, pipes, and images.

The exhibition will take place at Habibi Kiosk Munich (setup: July 7, 2026, opening: July 8, 2026).

Habibi Kiosk is a project affiliated with the Munich Kammerspiele theater at the intersection of contemporary art, performance, and encounter, a space for experimentation, exchange, and situational formats.

Residency

The artistic work is based on a one-week residency from June 22 to June 28, 2026, in Longega in the Val Badia (South Tyrol, Italy) at the invitation of Longega Project.

The residency is intended for research, on-site work, collecting material, and developing the artistic work. The work will be created in relation to the village of Longega and its surroundings.

Longega Project is an international platform for site-specific artistic research in the Ladin-speaking Dolomites region. Longega (meaning “between waters” in English) symbolizes fluid transitions, cultural layers, and knowledge stored in the landscape.

Fee

Artist fee: €750 gross
Reimbursement of material costs: up to €500
