Inclusive cultural institutions – realities of a diverse society
Introductory workshop at the Münchner Kammerspiele
28.5, 12.30–17.00 and 29.5.2019, 09.00–15.30

We live and work in a diverse society. Structural, institutional and social challenges require a new understanding of ways to handle exclusion and participation. How should inclusivity be integrated into cultural institutions? What structural changes have to be made in order to achieve sustainable development? How can or should art and culture be rethought in order to depict social reality? New approaches are needed, ones which will be developed in this seminar together with the participants. The training offered also shows ways and tools in making approaches that have a lasting impact on our cultural institutions.

Training content:
*Reflection and attitude – locating oneself
*Orientation for resources and needs
*What is meant by participation?
*Reducing discrimination and exclusion – dealing with structural discrimination - accessibility
*Cooperation and networking – cooperation / collaboration / team
*Empowerment

The participants will take part in training in small groups, then draw up practical tasks in a plenary session. They will receive theoretical input and reflect on new views and attitudes by doing exercises. The seminar makes use of a broad spectrum of methods and a varied use of media.
