50 YEARS OF “1968” — CORRESPONDENCE FROM THE PERIOD OF THE APO (extra-parliamentary opposition) / READING BY: PETER BROMBACHER, NILS KAHNWALD & WIEBKE PULS, INTRODUCTION: NORBERT FREI
Unlike in today’s digital age, where revolutions are summed up in Tweets and flash mobs have taken the place of demonstrations, texts and the printed word on the subject of the ’68 generation have by no means lost their value. In the past, no hearing was complete without prepared statements, and hardly a student session took place without minutes, pamphlets and pirated texts that served as indispensable intellectual accessories. Perhaps what is more surprising still: revolutionaries kept diaries, wrote dedications in books, and beautiful letters to their nominated patrons. Peter Brombacher, Nils Kahnwald and Wiebke Puls read from a colourful assortment of correspondence and observations by leading and less well-known contemporaries of the APO period.
